How to Measure a Wall for Fluted Panels Without Under-Ordering
Share
A reliable wall-panel quotation starts with complete measurements. A single total area can be useful, but length and height are better because they also help estimate edge finishing and identify openings.
1. Measure every wall separately
Record the width and height of each wall in centimeters. Do not combine different walls until each one has been listed. If a wall changes height, divide it into simple rectangular sections.
2. Record doors, windows, and fixed openings
Measure the width and height of every opening. Tell the quotation team whether panels will stop at the opening or continue behind removable furniture or fixtures. Do not subtract openings automatically because the cutting layout may still require full panels.
3. Confirm panel direction
Most fluted feature walls use vertical panels, but the intended direction changes the cutting plan. Send a photo or sketch showing the preferred direction.
4. Identify exposed edges and corners
Mark outside corners, inside corners, top edges, and side edges that need a finished profile. This information helps determine whether a matching corner angle or edge profile is needed.
5. Include a cutting allowance
Panel quantities are normally rounded up and may include an allowance for cutting and waste. The appropriate allowance depends on the product, wall shape, openings, and installation plan. The quotation should clearly state the allowance used.
6. Confirm the exact product and color
Indoor and outdoor WPC panels are separate systems with different dimensions and accessories. Include the exact product name and preferred color with your measurements.
